TOWER OF POWER - 01. SO I GOT TO GROOVE/RHYTHM AND BUSINESS(1997)

오늘부터는 기존에 음악과는 다른 FUNKY STYLE 음악으로 변경했다.
물론, 내가 좋아하는 밴드이고 좋아하는 음반이니까...그런데 너무 2000년 전 음악만 하는 게 아닌가 하는 생각도 해보지만...
내가 좋아서 하는 건데, 무슨 상관이 있을가 싶다.

일단, 음악에 대한 설명보다는 음악을 먼저 들어보시길...



음악에서 느낄 수 있는 감정은 어라..꽤 신나는데~라는 느낌이 살짝 들었을 것 같다.
사실, 미국에서는 굉장히 유명하기도 하고 실력도 최고로 일컬어 지는 HORN SESSION이 있는 밴드라고 보면 된다.

물론, 이 음반은 세간의 욕을 조금 먹었던 것이 기존 음반과는 다르게 상업적임 음악이 너무 많다는 얘기를 하곤 한다.
그 의미는 FUNKY STYLE도 있지만, POP적인 성향의 음악이 너무 많다는 의미겠지..
나중에 곡 소개를 하면서 듣을 수 있는 곡들도 많이 있으니...추후에 소개를 하는 것으로...

일단 첫 번재 곡은 SO I GOT TO GROOVE이며, 이들이 추구하는 GROOVE의 기본이라고 보면 된다.

내가 언제부터 BRASS SESSION을 좋아하게 되었는지에 대해서 정확하지는 않지만,
리듬 사이를 파고드는 HORN SESSION은 정말 감칠맛이 난다.

물론, 이 밴드를 좋아하게 된 계기는 BASS라는 악기를 좀 더 알기 위해서 듣기 시작했지만~~

이 음악은 EMILIO CASTILLO(밴드 리더, 테너 섹스폰), STEPHEN KUPKA(바리폰 섹스폰) & HERMAN MATTHEWS(드러머)에 의해서 쓰여진 곡이다.

아마도 이 밴드의 음악을 소개할 때는, 베이스 COVER 연주를 곡 첨부해야 될 듯 싶다.
이유는 내가 좋아하고, 내가 보고 싶으니까~~~

라이브 버전은 이게 더 재밌다.



그리고, 위에 얘기했던 베이스 카피 영상도...



영상을 보면 굉장히 쉽게 치는 것 같고, 늘 패턴이 똑같지만. 상당한 실력이라는게 느껴진다.
16비트 FINGER FUNK 스타일을 정말 잘 표현해내는 것이 부러울 뿐이다.

YOUTUBE를 보다보니,,,이 곡을 COVER한 밴드가 있어서 그것도 같이 보는 것으로 해야겠다.
밴드 이름은 RIGIDY ROURKE & THE LOVE DOGS인데...어느 나라인지 조차 잘 모르겠다.
단순 아마추어 밴드 같지는 않은데...정말 잘 하는데...

음...2번 곡인 CRAZY FOR YOU는 YOUTUBE에 안나오는데...어찌해야되나...걱정이네.
