자존심이 쎄고, 언제나 헤드가 되기를 원했던 KAI HANSEN이라 HELLOWEEN의 보컬인 KISKE가 더 유명해지는 것을 원하지 않아서 라고 생각해야 될까?

GAMMA RAY의 본거지는 HAMBURG, GERMANY이다.
출장으로 서너번 다녀왔었는데, 근처 스튜디오라도 한번 가볼껄 하는 생각이 드네...왜 그냥 왔는지...
근데, HAMBURG가 항구가 있어서 그런지는 몰라도, 생각보다 음악에 굉장히 많은 발전을 이룬 곳이라고 본다.
주로 항구를 통해서 외부의 문물이 들오오게 되니까 말이다...
이 음반에 대해서 소개를 하면, GAMMA RAY의 6번째 음반이다.
이 정도면 어느정도 자리를 잡다못해, 굉장히 굵직한 밴드라고 봐야겠지.
이 전에 발표한 음반 모두 상당한 성공을 했고, 이 앨범이 3부작의 종지부를 찍는 앨범이라고 보면 된다.
이 정도면 빠른건가 아니면 늦은건가...적당하다고 생각되는 걸...
이 노래는 참 맘에 드는게...시작부터 구석구석 좋은 곳이 너무 많다.
보컬 멜로디 라인이 참 좋게 들리다가도, 어느 순간 드러밍이 맘에 들어서 듣게되고, 그러다가 기타 리프가 맘에 들어서 듣게되고,
수십년을 들어도 아직까지도 좋은거 보면, 나도 참 단순하게 단지 좋게 들었으면, 내가 질리지 않는 한 지겹도록 듣는 것 같다.
작사의 경우는 내가 의미를 크게 두지 않아서 자세히 보는 편이 아닌데, 작곡을 혼자서...이런 대곡을...
도대체 머리속에 뭐가 들어있길래 이다지도 멋진 곡을 혼자 만들어내는지 모르겠구먼...
멋진 스튜디오 버전을 먼저 들어볼려고 했는데, YOUTUBE에 링크가 안 뜨네.
그래서 어쩔 수 없이 수 많은 라이브 중에서 하나를 걸어왔음.

사실 이 노래를 제일 처음 들었을 때, 아~~~정말 멋지다 라고 느낀 것은 바로
나즈막히 읊조리는 보컬이 끝난 뒤에 시작되는 드럼이었다.

이것은 카이 한센의 안경에 있는 카메라로 찍은 것이라고 하는데, 소리는 나중에 더빙을 한 듯 싶다.
티 안나는 안경인지 어떤 것인지는 모르지만...신기해서 한 번 쯤은 볼만하다.
스튜디오 버전이 없는 만큼, OPERA MAGNA 밴드가 COVER한 곡을 들어보기로 하자.
사실 원곡에 너무 충실하다. 원곡이 충실했다고 해서 흠이 되지는 않으니까...
다양한 커버 버전이 있음에 반해, 퀄리티가 심히 떨어지는 자료도 있는 법이다.
하지만, 요 드러밍은 제대로 잘 치는 것 같아서 볼려고...
