GAMMA RAY - 12. A WHILE IN DREAMLAND/POWERPLANT(1999)

이 곡은 2002년 발매한 음반에 포함된 3곡 중에서 첫 번째 보너스 트랙이다.
이 곡의 유래를 살펴보면, 그 전 EP 음반에 수록된 곡으로, 그 이후에는 어디에서도 찾아 볼 수가 없는 아름다운 곡인데,
아마도 그냥 잊혀지는 게 작곡/작사자의 입장에서 너무나도 아쉬워서 다시 수록을 하지 않았나 생각해본다.



들어보면 아시다시피, 굉장히 아름다운 곡이다.
피이노 선율도 정말로 아름답고, 중간에 나오는 휘파람의 멜로디도 너무 좋다.
물론 가사도 괜찮은데...

그렇다면, 이 곡은 과연 어디에 어울리는 곡일까 라는 생각을 해보면,,,아무래도
LAND OF THE FREE 곡의 대미를 장식하거나 아니면
LAND OF THE FREE II를 일찍부터 생각하고 만든 곡이 아닌가 싶다.

다만, 12 년 후에 LAND OF THE FREE II 가 발매되기는 했지만...

우리 나라의 현실상 SILENT MIRACLES EP 음반을 구하기 쉽지 않기에,
POWERPLAND 음반을 구매한다면, BONUS TRACK에 들어있는
A WHILE IN DREAMLAND 곡을 알게 된다는 것은 또 하나의 기쁨이라고 할 수 있겠다.

2011년에 GAMMA RAY와 MICHAEL KISKE가 참여해서 부른 곡으로...
A WHILE IN DREAMLAND 곡인데,
이 영상이 2011년도 나왔다는 얘기는,
UNISONIC 앨범이 2012년도 나온 것을 생각해보면
KAI HANSEN과 MICHAEL KISKE가 UNISONIC 음반 작업을 시작했다는 의미로
사람들에게 선보였을 수도 있다는 생각을 해본다.

너무나도 아름다운 곡이라, 뭔 내용을 더 쓸까했는데, 딱히 더 쓸 정보가 없다는 것이 아쉽다.
