캬하하. 이번에 소개할 곡은 4번곡인 BELIEVER 곡인데, 이 곡이 참 묘하다.
뭐라 그래야하는지 참 애매한데...
뭔가 분위기가 굉장히 괴기스러운데, 묘하게 엄청 좋단 말이지.
묘하게 엄청 좋다는 의미는 기타 리프가 참 좋다.
그리고, 저 리프가 리프가 국내 어느 밴드에서 굉장히 자주 듣던 리프라는 점이다.
저 리프 기타 리프가 너무 낯설지가 않다.
도대체 뭣 때문에 이 곡에서 이런 괴기스러움이 나오는 지 한참을 들어보고 고민을 해봤는데,
결론은 초반의 베이스 리프와 함께 나오는 기타 하모닉스 음과 키보드 음들이 초반에 그 분위기를
다 주도했다고 본다.
아싸, 생각났다.
부활 2집의 회상2에서 나오는 기타리프다.
뭐 생간 난 김에 적는 것이니...그다지 뭐...문제가 되진 않겠지?
내가 언제 똑같다고 했나...느낌이 비슷하다는 거지 뭐 ^^
부활 곡은 각설하고...
내가 유독 이 노래를 맘에 들었했던 이유는 TRIBUTE ALBUM에서는 그다지 나에게 임팩트를 가하지 못했다.
하지만, DIARY OF A MADMAN 음반을 구하고 나서, 이 곡에 대한 진가가 나타나는데, 정말 멋지다는 표현뿐.
내가 참으로 열받았던 것이,
우리나라 지구 레코드에서 나온 음반의 저 표지를 보라...
왼쪽 구석탱이만 짜르고...게다가 그것도 모자라서
총 8곡인 앨범의 곡들을 딸랑 6곡으로 줄여놨다.
나 원 참.
내가 저 음반을 고를때 우와..어쩌면 앨범의 전체 시간이 31분 뿐이 안될까...정말 이게 사실일까
하는 의구심이 늘 있었다.
하지만, 짤린 노래는 정녕 들어볼 수 없는 없고...
이게 음반이냐!!!
이러고도 90년대에 LP 금액을 5~6000원씩 받아처묵다니...
아...다시 생각하니 열받네...
The 2002 re-issue controversy
The 2002 Diary of a Madman reissue was derided by fans due to the removal of Daisley and Kerslake's original bass and drum tracks. The re-issue featured re-recorded bass and drum tracks contributed by Osbourne's then-bassist and drummer Robert Trujillo and Mike Bordin, respectively. The move was suspected of being retaliatory in nature, as Daisley and Kerslake had successfully sued Osbourne and his wife/manager Sharon in court, winning songwriting credits and royalties for their contributions to Diary of a Madman.
Sharon later stated that Ozzy and not herself was responsible for the decision to re-record the parts, stating "because of Daisley and Kerslake's abusive and unjust behavior, Ozzy wanted to remove them from these recordings. We turned a negative into a positive by adding a fresh sound to the original albums."[14] However, Osbourne contradicted this claim in his 2009 autobiography, stating that the decision to re-record the original bass and drum parts was strictly Sharon's decision, and that "I didn't have anything to do with that decision."[15] He said his wife "just snapped" and had it done without his knowledge.[15] He also stated that "a sticker was put on the covers telling everyone about it",[15] though in fact the sticker was not initially placed on the re-issue and was only placed on the covers at a later date due to fan outcry over the altered recordings.

전 글에도 내가 적었었는데, BOB & LEE의 곡에 대한 저작권을 행사하는게 꼴사나웠는지,
TRUJILLO & BORDIN과 음악을 레코딩을 다시 해서 2002년에 발매를 했다.
솔직히 내가 다른 곡은 잘 모르겠는데, 이 곡은 확실히 알 수 있는게..
초반에 나오는 베이스 리프의 리듬을 완전 망가트려놨다.
그래서 팬들한테 욕도 무쟈게 먹은 거 같다.
그리고 나서 30주년 기념 음반에는 다시 원곡으로 만들어놨다. 그럼 그렇지...
일부러 사람들이 찾아듣지 않게 하려고, 그 따위로 해놓은건지..아무튼 이해가 되지 않는다.
비교 할 만한 자료가 없다는 게 조금 안타깝다.
OZZY OSBOURNE & RANDY RHOADS - BELIEVER
1981년 7월 28일. LIVE AT THE ST DENNIS THEATER 공연이다.
오지의 목이 맛탱이가 간 듯.
오지 오스본 라이브를 찾아보면, 유독 BRAD GILLIS 공연 라이브가 참 좋은 화질로 자주 꼭 등장한다.
그런데, 들어보면 정말 연주를 잘 한단 말이다.
RANDY RHOADS TRIBUTE BAND 연주인데...아...너무 잘하자너..
원곡보다 훨씬 좋은거 같다. 물론 이 사람들으 카피 밴드이지만
아무리 기타 리프가 좋아도, 난 베이스가 더 좋다.
그래서 베이스 커버만 동영상을 찾아서 호호호...
근데, 이 사람 톤도 좋고 굉장히 잘 치는뎅..훗!
참으로 BOB DAISLEY는 참 라인을 참 잘 만든단 말이지.
이걸 한 번 보고나서, 음악을 들으면 다시 또 안들리던 베이스가 잘 들린단 말이지.
그래서 참 좋아.
