후렴구에 나오는 부분 때문에 엄청나게 사회적으로 큰 파장을 일으켰던 곡이기도 하다.

전 곡인 THE HAPPIEST DAYS OF OUR LIVES와 연결되는 뮤직비디오인데,
내가 시간을 2분 20초부터 재생되도록 해놨다.
일종의 충격적이라고도 할 정도로 획일화된 교육에 대한 비판이기 때문에
지금의 현실과 별반 다르지 않지만, 1979년에 이미 이런 류의 입장을 발표했다는 것이 참
놀랍기만 하다.
1994년 EARLS COURTS LONDON CONCERT의 실황이다.
이 공연의 특징은 ROGER WATERS와 결별한 후에 한 공연인데, 좀 특이한 것이
관객들의 반영이 영 시원찮다.
그래서 예전에 풀 영상으로 봤을 때 도대체 왜 그런가 싶어서 좀 찾아봤더니
아직 명확히 ROGER WATERS와 결론이 안 난 상태에서 공연을 해서 그런가...
분명 THE WALL에 대한 저작권은 ROGER WATERS한테로 넘어갔는데...
물론 이름은 PINK FLOYD로 그대로 그 전 멤버들이 사용하기로 하고...
내가 들었던 리메이크 곡 중에서 가장 맘에 드는 곡이었다.
이 곡을 들은지도 십년이 훌쩍 지났으니까...

이 사람의 공연은 정말 눈으로 직접 한번 보고 싶을 정도로 규모가 어마어마하고, 영상으로만 봐도 임팩트가 이렇게 강한데...
정말 보고 싶다.

솔직히 무대 사이즈가 큰 차이가 없어 보인다.

"Another Brick in the Wall" is a three-part composition on Pink Floyd's 1979 rock opera The Wall, written by bassist Roger Waters. "Part 2", a protest song against rigid schooling, features a children's choir. At the suggestion of producer Bob Ezrin, Pink Floyd added elements of disco.
"Part 2" was released as a single, Pink Floyd's first in the UK since "Point Me at the Sky" (1968). It became their only number-one single in the UK, the United States, West Germany and many other countries, and sold over four million copies worldwide. It was nominated for a Grammy Award, and was number 375 on Rolling Stone's list of "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time". The American nu metal band Korn covered all three parts for the 2004 album Greatest Hits, Vol. 1.

Concept
The three parts of "Another Brick in the Wall" appear on Pink Floyd's 1979 album The Wall, a rock opera that explores abandonment and isolation, symbolised by a wall. During "Part 1", the protagonist, Pink, begins building a metaphorical wall around himself following the death of his father. In "Part 2", traumas including his overprotective mother and abusive school teachers become metaphorical bricks in the wall. Following a violent breakdown in "Part 3", Pink dismisses everyone he knows as "just bricks in the wall".[1][2]
점점 크면서 한 아이의 정서적인 부분에 영향을 미치는 것들이 순서적으로 잘 묘사되어 있다.
아버지의 죽음으로 인한, 선생들로 부터...점점 벽을 쌓고 있는 어린 시절 PINK의 모습.
Bassist Roger Waters wrote "Part 2" as a protest against rigid schooling, particularly boarding schools.[3] Another Brick in the Wall" appears in the Wall film. In the "Part 2" sequence, children enter a school and march in unison through a meat grinder, becoming "putty-faced" clones, before rioting and burning down the school.[4]
이 사이에 있는 WIKI 글은 음악에 디스코적인 요소를 넣었다고 한다. 그것은 다름아닌 FOUR TO THE BAR 라고 되어있는데, 이것이 8분 음표를 하나씩 넣은 아이들이 걸어갈 때 나는 리듬 패턴이다.

Royalties
The children of Islington School received tickets to a Pink Floyd concert, an album, and a single.[11] Though the school received a payment of £1,000, there was no contractual arrangement for royalties.[12] Under 1996 UK copyright law, they became eligible for royalties from broadcasts. After royalties agent Peter Rowan traced choir members through the website Friends Reunited and other means, they lodged a claim for royalties with the Performing Artists' Media Rights Association in 2004.[12]
로얄티에 대한 얘기로, 처음에는 정식 계약없이 콘서트 티켓, 음반, 싱글들을 받았으나, 1996년 저작권법에 따라서 로열티를 받을 자격을 얻었다는 내용임.
Lyrics controversy
The lyrics attracted controversy. The Inner London Education Authority described the song as "scandalous", and according to Renshaw, prime minister Margaret Thatcher "hated it".[10] Renshaw said: "There was a political knee-jerk reaction to a song that had nothing to do with the education system. It was [Waters'] reflections on his life and how his schooling was part of that."[10] The single, as well as the album The Wall, were banned in South Africa in 1980 after it was adopted by supporters of a nationwide school boycott protesting racial inequities in education under apartheid.[17][18]
가사 논쟁이다. 마가렛 대처가 이 곡을 싫어했다는 것.
워터스가 단순히 이 곡은 자신의 학교생활의 한 부분이었다고 얘기하면서 종식된 것 같고,
사우스 아프리카에서는 금지곡으로 됨. ㅋ
지금 시기랑은 안 맞겠지만, 그래도 강력한 버전의 리메이크곡은 들어봐야지.
이 곡이 1등을 휩쓴 나라들을 살펴보자. ㅋ
대단하다.
전체적으로 3백 7천만장이 팔렸고...물론 저 시기가 지금 현재는 아니겠지만...
